You then visit a market, cook in a class and eat lunch with a local family. The menu changes with the season, so do not expect the same dishes every day.

Cooking classes in Tra Que without a boat
If you only want to cook, the vegetable village of Tra Que, about 3 km from the old town, has classes in the gardens. These do not include a basket boat. One group class in Tra Que lists USD 28 per person with a market visit at 9:30 am, or USD 22 without the market at 11:00 am or 5:00 pm. Groups are 2 to 12 people, and a private class adds USD 7. The booking form shows a different total, so confirm the amount when you book.
The menu of that class lists spring rolls, a Vietnamese rice pancake with pork and shrimp, caramelized pork or chicken in a clay pot, and lemongrass chicken.
