What a Hoi An bike tour covers
The ride goes east and south of the old town on small roads, past rice fields, vegetable gardens and village houses. Most guided tours add a visit to Tra Que, a basket boat ride in the coconut forest of Cam Thanh, or both. The coconut forest is 4 to 5 km (2.5 to 3 mi) from the old town by one driver's estimate, so the ride itself is short. The time goes into the stops.

Coconut forest and basket boat

The Sustainable Bike Ride confirms bookings within 24 hours. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. Later changes and no-shows are charged in full. In uncertain weather the operator offers a different departure time or a refund, and the route and stops can change.

Riding on your own
You can rent a bike in town and ride out yourself. We have no listed rental rate to quote, so ask your hotel or a shop for the price and the condition of the bike. Start early to avoid midday heat, carry water and follow the pier on your booking if you plan a boat ride. The forest has several piers, and distances differ by operator.
